This year is the 100th Anniversary of Agatha Christie’s first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. It is also the first novel starring her famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot.
When I was in England in 2014, I was able to see Styles (streetview only because it’s a private residence). Apparently, it was a home Agatha Christie either lived in or visited prior to writing the novel in 1920.
Agatha Christie is my primary influence as a writer and also as a student of human nature.  Her books have stood the test of time because her characters and their motivations are universal.
Happy Anniversary, Styles!
